Kent Knitted Poppy Parade say “Thank You”

Kent Knitted Poppy Parade logo

We appealed to the public to knit or crochet poppies and bring them to the Swanley Link where a Poppy display was created.

Over 2750 poppies have been donated so far.

The poppy carpet will be on display on Remembrance Sunday when it can be seen as part of the Remembrance Service at St Mary’s Church, Swanley.

It will then be stored for re-use next year.

Claire Cormack, Swanley Link Manager said “A big thank you to everyone who has donated their time and effort to the appeal, it’s overwhelming how the community have come together to support the Royal British Legion. Keep calm and knit on…….as we would love more for the Centenary next year”.

Swanley Remembrance Day Parade starts at 2.30pm from the Town Centre, then 2.45pm for wreath laying with 3.00pm service.
